Editorial policy
Curious County Journal aims to make county geography clear without smoothing away uncertainty. We check names, descriptions and claims against appropriate sources, and make corrections plainly when needed.
Accuracy and uncertainty
We take care with place names, geographic descriptions and historical claims. When a point is uncertain, disputed or dependent on how a boundary is defined, we say so rather than presenting one reading as settled. We do not invent local details or imply that a general explanation replaces authoritative mapping or records.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial choices are made for reader interest and relevance, not to secure favourable coverage. Any paid, sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled near the content, and commercial relationships do not buy editorial conclusions.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and passage. We review credible correction requests and update material when warranted, with a clear note where a change materially affects the meaning.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be AI-generated. They are used as visual aids, not as evidence of a real place, historical scene or geographic feature; captions identify them where relevant.
A map is only one way to read a place
County lines can look decisive on paper. The land, names and routes within them tell a less tidy story.
